Glutathione is a tripeptide composed of cysteine, glutamic acid and glycine. It is found in red blood corpuscles and the majority of cells. It performs the important role of oxido-reductive shock-absorber in cellular oxidation processes due to variations in the balance of its two forms, reductive and oxidative. It also intervenes in organism intoxication processes, especially associated with ascorbic acid which is present in plasma and distributed ubiquitously throughout the cells of the organism.
